Balance, polarization, and...

What comes first - living or prosperity?

What's the difference? For me, living is putting family, friends, and health first. Prosperity is making sure you've got enough food, shelter, etc, for your family, friends and health to...prosper.

Unfortunately it often feels like our time and energy has to go towards one or the other. The more time we spend pursuing wealth and prosperity, the less we have for each other. The balance between the two is one of the most difficult and pressing decisions most of us have to make, and most do it implicitly, subconsciously, or by convention according to their upbringing/social context.

Do you find yourself vexed by this? Or by tacit consent, has your balance been chosen for you?

But enough of philosophizing! I must, at this juncture, make a call to all Canadians to work now more than ever to avoid the polarizing politics taking place south of the border...notably with the recent 'Pledge to America' put out by the Republican Party. It would seem that genuine constructive discussion is now no longer possible south of the border...

Don't let it happen here!
